Jane was born about 1846. She was the daughter of John Moir and Jane Strachan. She passed away after 1861.

Jean, daughter of John Moir & Jean Strachan, was born on 6 November 1845 and baptised on 19 November 1845 in Bourtie, Aberdeen, Scotland.^[1]

In the 1851 census Jane (age 5), Farmers Daur, was the daughter of John More in Thornton, Bourtie, Aberdeenshire.^[2]

In the 1861 census Jean (age 15), Farmer's daur, was the unmarried daughter of Jean Moir in House of Thornnton, Bourtie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.^[3]
