Biography

Andries werd geboren in 1851, in het Broersveld in Schiedam^[1]. Hij was een zoon van Andries Mookhoek en Johanna Margaretha Schouwer. Zijn moeder overleed toen hij 8 was, zijn vader toen hij 14 was.

Misschien heeft Andries een poosje bij zijn oudste zus ingewoond. Toen hij oud genoeg was ging hij bij de marine. Hij was matroos op de Zr. Ms. Koning der Nederlanden toen hij ziek werd en overleed in het Militair Hospitaal in Soerabaja^[2].
