Following notes copied from his Family Search Profile by a contributor,
Family Search provided the following information from the profile of James Shadrach Mooneyham. No sources listed and unable to verify. James Shadrach Mooneyham may have been an orphan who was reared by an Uncle. He also may have served in the Revolutionary War. Although there is no known documentary evidence, it is said he served as a Quartermaster Sergeant under General Pinckney in the Battle of Lexington Courthouse and other battles.
Before 1788 the area of middle Tennessee had been opened as a land bounty for the men of North Carolina's Continental line and Scotch/Irish veterans poured into the territory. Shadrach moved his family from North Carolina, into Tennessee in 1810. He arrived in White County about 1815 and settled his family, consisting of four sons, one daughter and his wife. The four sons were Shadrach (Jr), Daniel, Jesse and John Hezekiah. His sons Joel and Thomas arrived some time later.
In the 1820 census John, Joel and Thomas were located and we're married with families of their own. Shortly after arriving in Tennessee the other boys married -- Shadrach (Jr) to Lucretia Ogle, Daniel to Jemima Dodson, Jesse to Minnie McCarver and John Hezekiah to Mary Elizabeth Grissom. As the families began to grow, we find many Mooneyham in the area of central Tennessee.
His wife, "Kizzie" died in 1838. Shadrach, along with a son and son-in-law, John McCarver and their families, moved to Franklin County, Illinois in 1839. James Shadrach Senior and James Shadrach Jr. are both listed on the same page in the United States Census 1840 event place Franklin, Illinois. Each with their own household.
He is buried in a family plot on his farm in Franklin County, IL which the family named "Old Mount Pleasant" Cemetery and which contains the graves of several family members. The graves are unmarked and the property is farmland now (1993).
According to NC probate records his parents were Thomas and Mary Mooneyham. The record also lists his siblings and can be viewed for free at: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:37SQ-29FM-1P9?i=107&cc=1867501.
