John Morey was born on May 12, 1858, in Seneca Falls, Seneca, New York, USA. His parents were Israel Morey and Mary Conklin. [1] He married Clara Sanderson on August 09, 1885. [2] Together they had 7 children:
In the 1860 census, John (age 2) was in the Town of Huron, Wayne, New York, United States.[3]
John died on October 18, 1930 (aged 72), in Ross Township, Kalamazoo, Michigan. John is buried in Union Cemetery, Blanchard, Isabella County, Michigan.[1]
Rev. John A. Moray, Obituary
Rev. John A. Moray was born in the state of New York on May 12, 1858, and died from pneumonia at his home at Midland Park, Gull Lake, Michigan on Oct. 18.
On August 8, 1885, he was married to Clara Sanderson. To this union were born seven children: Fred George and Freman of Lansing John A. jr. of Blissfield: Mrs. James Snyder of Winn: Mrs. Clarence Turbin and Mrs. Carrol Beale of Port Huron, who together with his widow mourn their loss.
In September 1886, he joined the Methodist Protestant Conference and was an active member for 40 years.
The funeral was held at the Winn Church Tuesday Afternoon, Rev. John McCue, president, of the M.P. Conference acted as master of the ceremony. Rev Swadding, pastor of his home church delivered the sermon, and twelve other ministers, and members of the conference from different parts of the state acted as pallbearers, singers and otherwise assisted in the service. He was buried in the Union cemetery. He also leaves three brothers: George of this place, Loren of Grand Ledge, and Barrett, who is somewhere in the west: two sisters: Mrs. David Riggle and Mrs. Mable Sipfle of Winn. [2]

Mrs. James Snyder received the sad news of the death of her father, Rev. John Morey from pneumonia Saturday evening at his home at Gull Lake. Rev. Morey will be brought here for burial, this being his old home. The funeral will be at the Winn church, Tues. at one o’clock and will be under the auspices of the Minister’s conference of the Methodist Protestant Church.[4]
