Thomas Mundy alias Monday, parents were William Oliver Mundy, born about 1792 in South Carolina and Martha "Pasty" Bryant, born about 1794 in South Carolina according to the 1850 census. The family was living in Jackson Parish Louisiana in 1850. The children's names in the 1850 census were:
William Mundy born about 1829 in Alabama
Rubin Mundy born about 1833 in Alabama
Elihue (speculation: it was Eilene) Mundy born about 1835 in Alabama
and Private Thomas Mundy born about 1839 in Alabama.
Elizabeth Caroline Mondy Beatty born in 1826 was an older sibling to Thomas.
It would also appear that some of the children when they became adults would change the spelling of their last names from Mundy to Mondy.
