Richard Nesbitt was born about 1828 or 1832 in County Donegal, Ireland, the son of James Nesbitt and his wife Margaret Wilson.
He married Margaret Burns in 1858, at Mudgee, subsequently having eleven known children, three daughters, and eight sons.
Richard Nesbitt died 4 Apr 1877 in Mudgee, New South Wales, and was interred in the Mudgee Memorial Park Cemetery, Mudgee.[1]
When his daughter Gertrude married James Benjamin Davis in 1894, Richard's occupation was given as "policeman".
There is a discrepancy between Richard's arrival date, as given by the State Archives NSW 1862, and the date of his marriage to Margaret - with the latter taking place four years earlier than the former. An attempt shall be made to read the actual document. Paul-5413 22:23, 3 May 2022 (UTC)
There is another arrival for a Richard Nesbitt on the Ann Of Gloucester, but in 1836, not 1862, which makes more sense, but is unverified. (Other arrival statement removed until one can be verified.)
