Biography
Peter was born about 1540 in Acomb, Yorkshire, England, the son of Thomas Newark and Alice Redmers. He was a Squire to the Body of Queen Mary of England. Peter married Joan, the daughter of Thomas Vavasour of Copmanthorpe and they had the following children:
1. Henry: Died unmarried. 2. Katherine: Married Orson Hicken at Farnley, Yorkshire, England and married Michael Fawkes in 1607 at St. Sampsons, York, Yorkshire, England. 3. Dorothy; Married John, son of Richard Redman and Miss Mansere. 4. Alice: Married Thomas, an Alderman, son of Chritopher Herbert and Elizabeth Hemsworth in 1605 at St. Crux, York, Yorkshire, England. 5. Elizabeth: Married Roger, son of Ambrose Beckwith and Elizabeth Metham. 6. Thomas: Died unmarried.
