Biography

Alfred was born 28 February 1872 ^[1] in Hackney, Middlesex, England, son of James Norkett and Elizabeth (Jennings) Norkett. ^{[2] [3]}

At the time of the 1881 Census, his family's address was 7A Overbury Street, Hackney. His father was a Plumber. ^[2]

Ten years later, Alfred and his parents lived at 78 Overbury Street, Hackney, next door to his future wife Eliza Martin and her family. Alfred worked as a House Decorator. ^[4]

On 22 May 1893, when they were both 21, Alfred and Eliza married and resided with Alfred's parents. ^[5]

Still sharing accommodation with Alfred's parents at 78 Overbury Street, Hackney in 1901, the couple had three children by then. ^[6]

Alfred, Eliza, and their children had moved to 61 Hockley Avenue, East Ham, Essex before the 1911 Census. ^[7]

Eliza died in about 1936. ^[8]

Alfred continued to reside at 61 Hockley Avenue, East Ham until his death on 23 March 1942 at the age of 70. ^{[9] [10]}
