Edwin Albert Nott was born on 13 July 1874 in Prahran, Victoria, Australia,^[1] the son of Eleanor (Clarke) Nott and Augustus Loriot Nott.

He married Rose Ella Greenhill in 1906 in Victoria.^[2] Their son was:

• Charles Nott (1914–1976)^[3]

Edwin died on 13 September 1943 in Caulfield, Victoria, aged 69 years.^[4] His remains were buried at Springvale Botanical Cemetery in Springvale, Victoria.^[1]
