Biography
Anthony was born in 1780. "22nd Feb. Anthony son of Richard A. Nott & Juliana his wife, privately"
He was baptized in the church on 29 March 1780. "29th March, Anthony Nott brought into the church."
He married Elizabeth Evans in Exeter, Devon in 1805. "I Susanna Fryer of Liverpool, widow, formerly Susanna the wife of John Evans of the city of Exeter do hereby certify my consent to the marriage of my daughter Elizabeth Roberts Evans by the said John Evans to Anthony Nott, a Lieutenant in the Bedford Regiment of Militia..."
In 1841 they were living in Waterloo Place, Lewes, Sussex with children Caroline & Rose & Caroline Wade.
In 1851 Anthony & Elizabeth were living in Lewes, Sussex with daughter Rose. Also present was visitor Caroline Wade. He was a retired chaplain.
Anthony died in Lewes, Sussex in 1860. "Rev. Anthony Nott of Lewes, buried April 30th, age 80 years"
"Nott The Reverend Anthony. 2 June. ...the Reverend Anthony Nott late of Lewes in the County of Sussex, clerk, deceased, who died 24 April 1860 at Lewes...proved by the oaths of William Luke Evans* of Alwyne Road, Canonbury, Islington in the County of Middlesex, clerk and Elizabeth Roberts Nott of Lewes... Effects under 9,000 pounds"
