DNA Research

Maternal AND/OR Paternal relationship is confirmed by a MyHeritageDNA test match between Michelle Curnick and her 2nd cousin twice removed, a descendant of Francis Nott (S.W.). Their most-recent common ancestors are John Nott and Annie Maria Pope. Predicted relationship from MyHeritage: 3rd-6th cousins, based on sharing 27.6 cM across 1 segment.

N.B. 27.6 cM across 1 segment is small (but not impossible) for a 2nd cousin twice removed (0-244 CM range, average 71 cM according to the shared cM tool v 4.0 https://dnapainter.com/tools/sharedcmv4)

However the same match (S.W.) ALSO matches their 2nd cousin once removed A.R.J. at MyHeritageDNA sharing 114.3 cM.

Research Notes

There is no Birth Registration at either the Local Registry Office or the General Register office. Evidence of birth comes from a copy of Harry's application form when he applied for a copy of his own birth certificate on 11th May 1913, which has been passed down through family.
