Mary G. Sylvester, 99, of the Primrose Assisted Living Facility, died in her home on July 31, 2004. She was born April 7, 1905 in Finland to Axel and Marie Nyman. They came to the United States shortly thereafter and settled in Duluth. She married Edmund G. Sylvester in 1925 and worked in the office of the Glass Block store on Superior St. for many years. She was an avid golfer and was very proud of the 'hole-in-one' she scored at the Auto Club. She was also a charter member of the Duluth Elks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund in 1991 and her sister Esther Hubert in 2002. She is survived by her nephews, Raymond, William and Wayne Hubert of Duluth and Lawrence Hubert of Houston, Texas. One niece, Colleen Perrault of Duluth.
