Biography
Constantine “Constance” McHugh O'Byrne, son of Michael C. O'Byrne and Elizabeth O'Byrne, was born on 1 February 1875 in Aldgate, Middlesex, England.[1][2][3] He appeared on the census of 1881 in the home of his parents at Leyton, Essex, England.[4] Constantine is in the 1900 census twice. He was a day laborer when he appeared on the census of 2 June 1900 in the home of Louisa Williams Smith, his future mother-in-law, at Selby, Bureau County, Illinois.[5] He was a day laborer when he appeared on the census of 4 June 1900 in the home of his parents at La Salle Ward 6, Lasalle County, Illinois.[6]
He married Nora Catherine Smith, daughter of William Balthasar Smith and Louisa (Williams) Smith, about 9 June 1903 the date of their marriage license in Bureau County, Illinois.[7][2][3]
He was a laborer at a Zinc company when he and Nora appeared on the census of 30 January 1920 at Selby, Bureau County, Illinois.[8]
Constantine died on 15 October 1927 at Spring Valley, Bureau County, Illinois and was buried at Depue Cemetery, Depue, Bureau County, Illinois.[2] His memorial has a photo and links to those of family members.[3]
