Mrs. Mary Joudrey 1945 Bridgewater Bulletin

After a prolonged illness, the death of Mary Jane Joudrey, widow of Thomas Joudrey, occurred Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis S. Durga, 450 Main Street, Norwich, Mass. Born in Nova Scotia in 1867, the daughter of William and Eleanor Whynott Oickle, she has lived in this country for the past several years, moving to Norwich about twelve years ago. She held membership in Christ Episcopal Church. A devoted mother, Mrs. Joudrey is survived by the following children: Mrs. Caulder Freeman of Somerville, Mass.; Mrs. James Fenna of Plainfield, N.J.; Mrs. Frank F. Walsh of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia; Mrs. Robert Whynott of Liverpool, Nova Scotia; Mrs. Oscar Walker, Halifax, Nova Scotia; Mrs. Perkins Harding, Milton, Nova Scotia; Stewart Whynott, Halifax; Miss Mona Joudrey, Halifax; Mrs. Francis S. Durga, Norwich. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Joudrey were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Douglas H.L. Weth of Christ Episcopal Church. Burial was made in Maplewood Cemetery with Rev. Mr. Loweth conducting the committal. The bearers were John Collins, Fred Freeman, Frank S. Durga, and Joseph W. Hourigan. The services were largely attended and there were many beautiful floral tributes. Included in the attendance were relatives and friends from Somerville, Gloucester, and Natick, Mass., Montville and other places.
