Biography
Mae (Owens) McLaughlin was born in Wales.
Levina M Owens was born about September 11, 1910 in Llanfairfechan, Caernarfonshire, Wales, United Kingdom, daughter of William John Owens (~1890–1971) and Margaret Williams.[1]
She emigrated with her parents to Canada about 1910-11.
In 1921, Levina May (age 10) was living with her father William Owens (age 31), mother Margaret (34), and siblings: Robert (8), Margaret (7), William (4), daughter (1), in Trail (City), Kootenay West, British Columbia. Her father worked in a smelter.[2]
In 1931, May (age 20) was living in household of William Jones Owens (age 40, car repairer/smelter), and Margaret (age 44), in Trail, Kootenay Boundary, British Columbia, Canada. She had six siblings. [3]
Mae married Thomas McLaughlin. They were later divorced.[4]
Mae McLaughlin died on July 17, 1985 in St. Vincents Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, aged about 74, divorced, housewife. Her usual residence was in Vancouver. The informant on the death record was her daughter. Mae was cremated July 23, 1985.[1][4]
