Biography

Giuseppe Papania is a Corleone native resident, the son of Giuseppe and Anna Papania. I estimate he is born around 1685, twenty years before he marries.

Giuseppe marries Filippa Cimino on 29 July 1705. His father has died by this time.[1]

Giuseppe and Filippa have at least five children: Giuseppa (c. 1706), Anna (c. 1714), Maria (c. 1714), Antonio (c. 1715), and Tommaso (c. 1734).

I estimate Giuseppa is born around 1706, twenty years before she marries.

I estimate Anna is 20 (b. 1714) when she marries. She is named after her paternal grandmother.

Maria is born around 1714, based on her reported age at death.

I estimate Antonio is born around 1715, twenty years before he marries.

Giuseppa marries Maestro Antonino Briganti on 29 September 1726.[2]

I estimate Tommaso is 30 (b. 1734) when he marries for the second time. He is named after his maternal grandfather.

Anna marries Paolo Ciravolo on 13 September 1734. Giuseppe and Filippa are both still living at this time.[3]

Antonio marries Antonina Nigliazzo on 13 November 1735. Giuseppe and Filippa are both still living at this time.[4]

Tommaso marries at least twice, first to Ignacia, whose surname is not yet known. He remarries, to Antonina Ducibella, on 30 April 1764. This marriage record gives Filippa's surname, Cimino. Giuseppe has died by this time, and Filippa is living.[5]

Maria, wife of Giovanni Binenti, dies at age 73 (b. 1714) on 3 December 1787.[6]
