Biography
Jesse was born in 1882. He passed away in 1929.
Obituary Notices: The obituary dated 15 November omits any reference to Christopher Leo Parris, but names Jesse's wife "Liza", as well as most of the other children. Jesse was apparently a widely known farmer in Mountain View (See link dated 14-Nov-1929).

I believe E.L. Parris is a typo that should have been "C.L." for Christopher Leo. The wife's name is correct. The other children's names are correct, although there were 10 children in all. Clarence Preston and Manning Christopher, mentioned as Jesse's brothers in the 15-Nov-1929 obituary, are known to be his brothers.
