Biography
Edward served in the Revolutionary War in the 6th Virginia Regiment under the command of Lt Col Hendricks. His Regiment had a prominent place with General George Washington and Washington's Aid de Camp the Marquis de La Fayette. Edward so admired the Marquis that he named his son John De LaFayette Patteson. The name has been carried in the family for generations.[1]
