Biography

Fanny Paull married Thomas Michell on 17 Dec. 1833 at Redruth (per IGI). This family appears in the 1841 census in the Tolgus neighborhood of Redruth as follows: Thomas Michell, 35, farmer; Fanny, 25; Grace, 5; Sally, 3; Harriet, 1. This family was in the Treleigh neighborhood of Redruth in 1851; Thomas was age 48, b. Redruth. Fanny Michell appears in the 1871 census in Treleigh House, Redruth as follows: Fanny, 58; children Sally, 33; Harriet, 30; Bessy, 27; John, 25; Richard, 21; Thomas, 19; Henry, 15.

As Thomas named his eldest daughter Sally (Sarah) and his eldest son John, it appears that he was the Thomas Michell bapt. 13 May 1802 at Redruth, son of John and Sarah (per CFHS). John Michell married Sarah Thomas 4 Nov. 1795 at Redruth (per OPC). John and Sarah Michell had children Sarah (2 Sep. 1798), Mary (17 Aug. 1800), John (13 May 1802), Elizabeth (9 Oct. 1804), Sarah (27 Nov. 1808), and John (5 May 1811)(per CFHS). John Michell was baptized 1768 at Redruth, son of John and Elizabeth. It appears that all the children of John and Elizabeth Michell born in or near Redruth from 1757 through 1774 are from the same couple -- check OPC. John Michell married Elizabeth Davey 7 Aug. 1756 at Redruth (per OPC); eldest son Francis. John Michell, son of Francis and Mary, was bapt. 7 June 1735 at Redruth. Francis Michell married Mary Roskrow 22 Dec. 1722 at Redruth. Mary Michell, wife of Francis, Jr., was buried 29 May 1723 at Redruth (OPC). Mary Michell, daughter of Francis, Jr., was buried 21 Sept. 1724 at Redruth (OPC). It would appear that the SENIOR Francis Michell was the one bapt. 9 Aug. 1674 at Redruth, son of John Michell, yr. Francis Michell (presumably 2nd marriage) married Mary Maynard 2 Feb. 1729 at Redruth (per OPC); children through 1753 or so. Mary Mynard, daughter of William and Grace, was bapt. 29 Dec. 1713 at Redruth (per IGI). William Maynard married Grace Banbory 2 Oct. 1711 at Redruth (per IGI). So who was the father of Francis Michell? Francis Michell, son of Francis, was bapt. 5 Sept. 1697 at Redruth and BURIED 21 Sept. 1713 (per IGI). Then the elder Francis had another son Francis baptized 23 Jan. 1715 at Redruth. Note that there was another Francis Michell, DAUGHTER of Francis and Frances, bapt. 2 July 1704 at Redruth (per IGI). Have to search (especially burials) in PRR.
