Biography
John was born in August of 1870 in North Carolina. On the 1900 Census, he was living with his wife and three children at 25 Turner Street in Asheville, Ward 3, Buncombe, North Carolina in a rented house and he was employed as a laborer. It also reported that his wife had 7 children born but only 3 living at that time. [1] By 1910 Carrie was living with her maternal grandparents in Fairview of Buncombe County. [2]
