William was born about 1720. He passed away in 1785.
Assumed born Bidford on Avon, Warwickshire, England about 1720 father William Payton, farmer (from Apprenticeship indenture). His baptism has not been found.
Apprenticeship indenture: 28 June 1739 apprentice to Thomas Bull, mason of London: "William Payton son of William Payton late of Biddeford in the County of Warwickshire farmer deceased" (William signed "William Payton").[1]
Marriage Licence 6 June 1750: William Payton of the parish of St Peter le Poor London bachelor age 29 and Ann Lewis of the parish of St Botolph Bishopsgate London spinster age 23. William Payton signed.[2]
Marriage at St Anne and St Agnes, Aldersgate, London, 7 June 1750: "William Payton of the parish of St Peter le Poor London bachelor & Ann Lewis of the parish of St Botolph Bishopsgate London spinster, with License".[3]
In 1759 when their son Isaac was baptised, they were living at St.Botolph, Bishopgate.
In 1766 when his youngest child Samuel was baptised, they were living at Great Pearl Street Spitalfields. They were still living there in 1783 when Samuel was convicted at the Old Bailey. William's wife Ann stated in court that William "has had an asthma seven years; he is almost dead".
Death William Payton died at Spitalfields in September 1785.

William was buried at Bunhill Fields Burial Ground, used by nonconformists. The burail record stated he was "Mr Will'm Payton from Spittlefields".[4]
