Edla (Petersson) Anderson migrated from Sweden to United States.

Edla Vilhelmina Petersson was born on 5 Aug 1867^[1] in Eskilatuna, Sweden ^[2] OR 5 Aug 1877 in Westmanland, Sweden, as the daughter of John Petersson, who was also born in Westmanland, Sweden. Her mother, who appears to be Mary (no maiden name known) was also born in Westmanland. Sweden^[3].

Edla and Eric G Anderson married about 1900 (as inferred on the 1910 U.S. Census).^[4] Their daughter, Anna Wilhelmina (Unknown) Wendell (1901-abt.1962) was born on 22 Apr 1901 in Eskilatuna, Södermanland Län, Sweden prior to their emigration.^[2]

"Edla V" (38) and Erik G (41) and "Anna W" (aka Anna Wilhelmina (Unknown) Wendell (1901-abt.1962)) (4) emigrated from Sweden on ship Calypso, departing on 14 Juli 1905 from Göteborg (Gothenburg), Göteborg Och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sverige (Sweden) with first stop at Hull, England^[5]; immigrating in the U.S. with intended destination Chicago, Illinois in 1905.^[2][6]

Son Erik William was born on 4 Jun 1906 and baptized 9 May 1909 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Chicago, Cook, Illinois.^[7]

On 22 Apr 1910 "Adeline W" (which may be a misunderstanding of her given name since it is not seen at any other time) (42) and husband "Eric G Anderson" (47), Anna "W" (aka Anna Wilhelmina (Unknown) Wendell (1901-abt.1962) ) (9) and Eric W (3, who was born in Illinois) are living on 22nd Place in the 11th Ward of Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA. Her husband was working as a roller in the marble industry.^[4]

In 1920 Edla (52) and "Gustav E Anderson"(56), who were both now naturalized, were living with their 2 children, Anna (18) and Eric (13) at 4819 22nd Place in Cicero, Cook, Illinois.^[8]

On 7 Apr 1930, the family surname is seen as "Anderson". Edla, now Edla "W" Anderson (62) and her husband who is now seen as "Edick Gustaf Anderson" (66, employed as a machinist for Western Electric), are the head of a mixed ethnic and generation family. Also living with them at this time was their son, Erick W (23, employed as a mail handler for U.S. Post Office), their daughter, now shown as "Anna W Mika" (28, employed as an assembler for Western Electric) and her husband, Charles Mika (33, Czechoslovakia-born; employed as an inspector at Western Electric), and a granddaughter Edris Anna Allen (5, born in Illinois).^[6]

Edla died at age 67 (if born in 1867 and not 1877), on 16 Sep 1934 in Brookfield, Cook, Illinois, USA and was placed to rest on 19 Sep 1934 at Forest Home, Forest Park, Cook, Illinois.^[3]

On 07 Feb 1963 and 17 Mar 1975, Edla Peterson was named as biological mother of Anna W Anderson Moore (born 1901). This was her daughter's change in name most likely at time of another marriage (not yet substantiated with any marriage record). ^[9]

This profile is being created with the information as known on 8-26-2022. I need collaboration and help with Swedish Records to find and view not only her birth record, but that of her husband and daughter, Anna Wilhelmina (Unknown) Wendell (1901-abt.1962). Anna's records show more than one biological father (LOL) - I believe there is more to this family's life than I know. NAME: The records for daughter Anna Wilhelmina (Unknown) Wendell (1901-abt.1962) show a variety of names for this daughter ... Andersson, Anderson, Powell and additional multiple versions of her numerous married names. These have yet to be accurately confirmed and resolved.

NAME: All records I have found show her maiden name as Edla Vilhelmina Petersson; however all Swedish birth records show different DOB and locations ... and I have the inclination to think that names are "morphed" from original birth name (not only for her but for her daughter, Anna Swedish BIRTH/BAPTISMAL RECORD is NEEDED.
