Erik Gustaf Petersson was born on 21 October 1821 in Ånimskog, Älvsborg, Sweden. He was baptised 3 days later. His parents were Peter Eriksson and Sarah Olofsdotter.
He and his wife, Anna Marie Gulbrandsdatter, had the following known children:
