Robert Petre, 7th Baron Petre was born on 17 March 1689/90. He was the son of Thomas Petre, 6th Baron Petre and Mary Clifton.
He succeeded to the title of 7th Baron Petre, of Writtle, co. Essex [E., 1603] on 4 January 1706/7.
He married Catherine Walmesley, daughter of Bartholomew Walmesley, on 1 March 1711/12.
He died on 22 March 1713 from smallpox and was buried at Ingatestone, Essex.[1]
