Elnora Pettit was born on the 12th March 1808 at Fabius, New York, daughter of Lucy (Felt) Pettit and husband James Pettit. [1]
MARRIAGE and CHILDREN
Elnora Pettit married on the 24th January 1833, in Pompey, New York, James Delvin of Utica, New York [1]. James was the son of William and Mercy (Adams) Delvin of Utica. [1]
James was born in Utica on the 6th March 1812 [1] and became a lawyer [1] and later a Justice of the Peace [refer to his Obituary Notice posted on Find-A-Grave]. He died on the 2nd Mary 1890 at Indianapolis, Indiana, [1] having proceeded his wife, and where he had been living for a few years with his daughter and son-in-law. [1]

Lucy Delvin, b. 4 Nov 1835, [2] ; m. Jas. Bailey [2] ; she d. in Utica, N.Y. [2]
William James Delvin, b. 1836, [2] Dunkirk, N.Y. ; m. Mary Low at Fredonia, N.Y. Mary was from Ireland. [2] ; William served in Civil War, Co. "A" 75th Reg., N.Y. Volunteers enlisting 25 Sep 1861 at New Orleans [2] ; they adopted daughter Anna Low Delvin [2]
Margaret A. Delvin, b. 1841, Dunkirk, N.Y. [2] ; m. William Hull of Clinton, N.Y. ; relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where her father died in his son-in-law's household [Obit for James Delvin from Dunkirk, N.Y.]
Mary Delvin, b. 1842, [2] prob. Dunkirk, N.Y. ; m. Allen Johnson of Pike, New York [2] ; d. 1896, Cleveland, Ohio [2]
Frances Elizabeth Delvin, b. 17 Jan 1844, Dunkirk, N.Y. [2] ; m. Chauncy Watson [2] ; d. 9 Mar 1920, Indianapolis, Indiana [2]
RESIDENCY
According to her husband's Obituary the Delvin's were residents of Dunkirk, Chautauqua, New York for over forty years.
DEATH
Elnora (Pettit) Delvin passed away on the 12th March 1808 at Fabius, Onondaga County, New York.[3]
In the Obituary (digitized newspaper image) posted on his Find-A-Grave memorial it is noted that James Delvin, lawyer and former Justice of the Peace, was a resident for over forty years at Dunkirk, Chautauqua County, New York.
