Biography

Elizabeth Phares (alias Farris and Fairson). Elizabeth's obituary spelled her maiden name as Phares. The daughter of Isaac Phares and Catharine Haddox.^[1]

Elizabeth was married to John Mileham. ^[2][3]

Obituary

Elizabeth Phares Mileham departed this life October 27, 1920, at the ripe age of 82 years, 11 months and 21 days, after a sickness lasting a few weeks The deceased was born in Ross county, Ohio. Nov 24, 1837. At the age of two years she moved with her parents to Logan county, Illinois, where she resided until she went to Nebraska. Twenty years of age she came to reside in Iowa and made this state her home until her death.

When 22 years of age she married John Mileham, who preceded her in death twelve years ago. To this union were born eight children of which six are now living to mourn her loss. They are Frank Mileham, Quimby, Mrs Geo. Powell, Hanover, Kansas, Mrs. J B Robinson, Washta, Mrs. F L. Robinson. Washta, Mrs H W Randall Quimby, Mrs E R. Brownmiller, Rosetown, Saskatchesvan, Canada

Deceased was a resident member of the Christian church of Cherokee. The funeral sermon was preached at the home of her son at Quimby by the Rev L. S Wardie. and interment was made in the Washta cemetery.^[4]
