Biography
Jefferson F. Pile was born June 9, 1828. He was the son of Elijah Pile (1795 – ) and Rebecca (Earp) Pile (1798 – 1874).[1]
He died August 27, 1864. He was a civilian noncombatant with moderate southern sympathies during the Civil War and was murdered by members of "Tinker" Dave Beatty's gang near the Three Forks of Wolf River in Fentress County, Tennessee.
