William who was named after his maternal grandfather, was born about February 1915 and was the son of Adina Pinnock (His father is not named). On 4 February 1916 he passed away when he was twelve months old after two weeks of suffering from bronchitis at Roden Hall, Clarendon where his mother was a labourer [1]
His mother had already suffered the loss of his sister Enid in 1913 when she was two years old.
His mother Adina married Arthur William Thomas (1883-1917) in October 1916 not long before he went to serve in the British West Indies Regiment in World War I.
Arthur had been present at the earlier birth and death of William's sister Enid, so perhaps he was the father of both children and wanted to give Adina financial security during his service and in the event of his death.
