Zareh survived and escaped Turkey (Ottoman Empire) during the Armenian genocide.
Became a linguist at the age 15/16 for the British during World War I. Once War ended, someone in the British forces pulled some strings to get Zareh into the University of Florida (All this information is from his daughter).
Came through Ellis Island, New York on July 7th, 1922 on the Acropolis at the age of 21 and was on a 5-year student visa in order to attend University of Florida.
Was the President of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity his senior year at the University of Florida.
B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Univeristy of Florida.
Taught at Auburn University (aka Alabama Polytechnic Institute) between 1927 to 1932 as a Mathematics Professor.
Then took a teaching position at the University of Florida and remained there until 1972 (retired).

During World War II, Zareh was apart of the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.)
Was apart of Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Fraternity.
