Biography

Howard Seymour Pitkin was born 31 Oct 1860 in Hartford, Connecticut^[1], son of Albert Palmer Pitkin (1829-1892) and Jane Ann Hastings (1828-1876). He was a newspaper reporter and Assistant City Editor for the Hartford Post. He served as historian and Assistant Deacon for the First Congregational Church of East Hartford, and also served that town as Tree Warden. On 31 Oct 1892 he married Nellie Bulkeley Hutchinson (1864-1916)^[2]. They had no children. Howard passed away 23 Oct 1917 age 56 in East Hartford^[3][1][4].
