Was born in either Wartulishkin or Kaukehmen. Was baptised 4 days after birth. Was confirmed on 26 March 1899 in Hermsdorf . Emigrated to US with family on the SS Pennsylvania from Hamburg 6 Nov 1899 probably to New York. Confirmation appears to have taken place just before the family left Germany to try to establish a health spa in Rosario, Argentenia. While in Rosario, she had typhoid fever. This effort only lasted a few months before they returned to Germany. After the divorce from Adam Lotz worked as a furrier in Los Angeles. Her ashes were scattered over the Pacific ocean per herrequest. Her marriage to Adam Lotz ended in a divorce on 3 July 1919. While living in Rosario, Argentina, in 1898 she had typhoid fever. She was the only one of the family to get the disease in the epidemic. They returned to Germany after 6 months in Argentina.
Upon return to Germany they lived in Hermsdorf, near Berlin. When she was 8 years old she started attending a private shcool in Hermsdorf where she received good grades. She also took private embroidery lessons and at an early age showed considerable talent in needle crafts. She entered the US at age 15 with an eighth grade equivalent education which included the ability to read and write inEnglish.
When she and Adam moved to LA they lived with Grandma Platz in a house on 76th St near Vermont for 3 months until their furniture arrived from New Jersey. They purchased a lot at 672 W. Florence Ave near Vermont for $10/month. It was paid off in 7 or 8 years. During the train ride from Jeresey City, NJ, to CA she hung diapers our the train windows to dry.
