Biography

Elizabeth was born about 1780. She passed away about 20 March 1836 in Farmersburg, Sullivan County, Indiana.

Elizabeth was married three times. She first married a Barbre, but I haven't found his name for sure, nor the record of the marriage. Several other researchers think his name was James. They had a son, Eli, who was born in Kentucky 25 July 1798. Their other children include: Seburn, who is buried in this same cemetery; and daughters Cecelia, wife of William Stansel; and Mary Pauline, who married Harrison Elliott and was living in Camden County, Missouri in 1850. There may have been two other daughters: Sarah and Rhoda.

After Mr. Barbre died, Elizabeth remarried to William Combs on 23 March 1813 in Harrison County, Indiana. Her last marriage was to Aldert Plew 3 March 1835 in Vigo County, Indiana.

In the 1880 Census, Cecelia Stansel, apparently the only one of Elizabeth's children still living, says her mother was born in Virginia.
