John Dingley Stephens Pooley was baptised 23 June 1860. He had been baptised previously 10 April 1847.^[1] Transcript here Image here He was the son of Richard Pooley and Catherine Dingley Stephens. He is the son of Richard Pooley and Catherine Stephens.

In the 1851 census John was the son of Richard and Catherine Pooley in Linkinhorne, Cornwall, England. He was age 3, born in Linkinhorne. His father was a granite worker. ^[3] In 1861, John was 13, attending the Wadham House Academy in Liskeard.^[4]

John's father died in 1866.^[5]

When John was 29, he married Elizabeth Evans (20), on 3 January 1877 at St Mary's Church, Surrey, England.^[6]

In the 1881 census John was 33 and a Chemist. He had a wife Elizabeth and they were on Hill Rd No15, Wimbledon, Surrey, England.^[7]

John died on 4 April 1926 in Bournemouth, Dorset, England and their estate passed probate on 8 May 1926 in London, England.^[8]
