Biography
Michael Pope was born in Somerset, England.
Assuming he was bound as an apprentice at age 16 in 1593, then Michael eas borrn about 1577, presumably in Brislimhton,near Bristol but in Somerset.
On the 9th August 1593, Michael (his father recorded as Richard Pope from Brislington in Somerset) was bound as an apprentice to Joyce Dyes, a Bristol soap maker and widow of Michael Dyes[1]. Michael a soap maker became a Burgess of the City of Bristol, on the 17th August 1601, through Apprenticeship to Joyce Dyer and Mr Richard Rogers.

Michaell married Joane Tomlinson on 3 July 1603 in St Thomas, Bristol, England.[3] Michael and Joane had a single child, Joanne Pope, born in 1608, but Michael’s wife Joane presumably died of complications from childbirth as she was buried soon after the birth.
After Joane’s death, Michaell re-married, this time to Agnes Robins, the marriage taking place on 5 August 1610 in St Thomas, Bristol, England.[4]
