Biography

Henry Porterfield is a part of US Black heritage.

Henry is the oldest known Porterfield in this line of Porterfields. In the 1880 census he is identified as black. Given he was born in the former slave state of Virginia it would follow that he was most likely born a slave.

Henry was born about 1834 in Virginia.^[1] Henry first married Ellen Corley They were the parents of:
