James was born in 1834.
In the 1841 England Census Robert Breistman 40 born abt 1801 in Northumberland, England, was head of his household in Side, Tindale (East Division), Northumberland. Other Household Members, all born in Northumberland, were his wife Ann Breistman 40, and their children Robert Breistman 15, maker, Margaret Breistman 15, Jane Breistman 8, James Breistman 6, Maryann Breistman 4, and Ann Breistman 2. [1]
In the 1851 England Census Robert Preastman 51 born abt 1800 in Carlisle, rush and cane chair maker, was head of his household in High Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne St Andrew, Northumberland, England. Other Household Members, all born in Newcastle on Tyne, were his wife Ann Preastman 49, and their children James Preastman 17 brush maker, Maria Preastman 15 scholar, Ann Preastman 12 scholar, Miles Preastman 9 scholar, and Jonathan Preastman 2.
