Biography
Francis was born in 1855. He was the son of Jonathan Priestman and Lucy Richardson. He was a Director and active colliery owner in Co. Durham and Cumberland (Whitehaven). He was High Sheriff of Co. Durham in 1914, a life Governor of the Royal Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, President of the Northern Union of Mechanics Institutes and, for 60 years, a member of the Benfieldside Church Choir[1]He passed away in 1936[2].
