Biographie
Naissance et baptême
Laurent est né le 23 août 1823, à Saint-Germain-de-Rimouski, Bas-Canada, fils de Frédéric Proulx et Rosalie Gagné. Il a été baptisé le même jour à l'église catholique Saint-Germain, le parrain été Jean Baptiste Ruais et la marraine Marie Chouinard.[1]
Mariages et famille
Laurent, vivant une cultivateur à Rimouski, a marié deux fois. D'abord à Angélique Rouleau le 7 janvier 1845, à l'église catholique Saint-Germain-de-Rimouski.[2] De cette union, aucun enfant n'a été enregistré.[3]
Deuxièmement, Laurent épousa Marie Philomène Frénette le 19 juillet 1870, à l'église catholique de Sainte-Luce-de-Lessard.[4] Ensemble, ils ont eu au moins 8 enfants que nous connaissons.[5] Laurent et Philomène ont repris leurs vœux lors d'une cérémonie de réhabilitation le 18 février 1900, à l'église Saint-Anaclet.[6]
Décès et sépulture
Laurent est décédé le 20 juin 1905 et a été inhumé deux jours plus tard, le jeudi 22 juin, au cimetière catholique de Saint-Anaclet-de-Lessard.[7]

Birth and baptism
Laurent was born on 23 August 1823, in Saint-Germain-de-Rimouski, Lower Canada, the son of Frédéric Proulx and Rosalie Gagné. He was baptized the same day at Saint-Germain Roman Catholic Church, the godparents were Jean Baptiste Ruais and Marie Chouinard.
Marriages and family
Laurent, a farmer in the Rimouski region during his lifetime, was twice married. First to Angelique Rouleau on 7 January 1845, at Saint-Germain-de-Rimouski Roman Catholic Church. From this union no children have been recorded.[8]
Secondly, Laurent married Marie Philomène Frénette on 19 July 1870, at Sainte-Luce-de-Lessard Roman Catholic Church. Together they had at least 8 children of which we know. Laurent and Philomène retook their vows at a rehabilitation ceremony on 18 February 1900, at Saint-Anaclet-de-Lessard Roman Catholic Church.
Death and burial
Laurent passed away on 20 June 1905, and was buried two days later on Thursday, the 22nd of June at Saint-Anaclet-de-Lessard Roman Catholic Cemetery.
