Gerald was born in 1924. He passed away in 2003. According to Ivie Louise Prouty's obituary, he is not her biological son. He does not appear to be the biological son of Herbert E Prouty. Gerald's brother Austin Herbert was born just 4 months before Gerald, Austin's mother being Ivie Louise Colburn. It would be impossible for Ivie to have had another surviving child just four months after Austin. While Herbert and Ivie lived in Landgrove/Manchester, Gerald's obituary says he was born in Castleton and spent his early years in New York. Herbert did go to New York after the death of Ivie, because his residence at the time of his death was New York. While the newspaper report of his death says that he has a son, age 5, it should be age 15. says that his wife died several years ago which would be correct.
