Emela was born in 1807 but baptised 8 Jun 1809, the daughter of Roger Prowse and Sybella Fabes. Her brothers George Phoebus (Fabes) and Henry Richard were baptised on the same day (and record).[1]
On 29 Mar 1827 Emily Prowse married, by banns, Emanuel Northey (b.1803) at Plymouth, Devon. R. Prowse was a witness.[2]
14 Feb 1828 Baptism of daughter Charlotte Northey at Stoke Damerel, Devon. Charlotte's father is listed as 'Manuel' and his profession as 'Baker'. Also of interest W. Prouse is the officiating minister.[3]
18 Nov 1830 birth of daughter Emma Louisa Northey. Emma was Christened 25 Jan 1831 at Devonport.[4]
01 Jun 1832 Baptism of daughter Eliza Mary Northey at Devonport.[5]
1841 England and Wales Census at Monument Street, Stoke Damerel, Devon:[6]

Daughter (implied): Charlotte, 14;

Daughter (implied): Ellen, 2.
Note: Daughter Emma appears in the 1841 Census with Emela's sister Charlotte on Jersey Island.[7]
The 1842 Navy Allotment Record lists Emanuel Northey, wife Emela married 28 Mar at St. Andrews Plymouth, as a W R Cook, Interesting in that Emela's brother Lewis was also a Navy Cook about this time.[8]
Note: distant relative Alexandra Collard provided Emela's death date as 1849. No corroborating record as yet found.
