John was born in 1738 and was baptised 12 Oct 1738 St Andrew's Tilmanstone.^[1] He is the son of Gibon Rammell and Mary Boys.

He married 3 Sep 1761 St George's the Martyr Canterbury Margaret Claringbold.^[2]
