Thomas was born about 1760. He was the son of Thomas Ramsey and Frances. He passed away about 1844.

From page 12 of the Star-Tribune, Chatham, Va,. Thurs. April 7, 1983 Hailey S. Ramsey was the son of Thomas Ramsey Jr. and a grandson of the first Thomas. Thomas Junior served his country during the Revolutionary War and in writings, he left behind a very sad story of hardship and trouble during this period.
Thomas Junior lived most of his life in Franklin County, dying there in 1844. His son Hailey S. apparently came back to Pittsylvania County in 1813, when he purchased the land from the Thomas Sr. estate.

Frances C. Young. Frances was married to Thomas Jr., not Thomas Sr. This is a fact. She was the daughter of William Young. The wife of Thomas Sr. has never been proven, although there is indication that her name is Frances, too -- so she is the Frances (?) possibly Frances Jefferson. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=otime&id=I02099
