Biography

Violet Ann Revard was born on January 26, 1935 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Her parents were Richard Revard and Viola Bushey.

She married Richard Joseph Greslik Nielsen on August 08, 1953 in Mt. Clemens. Together they had 3 children:

1. Linda Revard
2. Theda Lynn Revard
3. Sandra Nielsen

Violet died on August 23, 2007 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Research Note

Note: Violet "Vi" Ann Nielsen, 72, a lifelong resident of Mount Clemens and Clinton Township, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in St. John Macomb Hospital. Mrs. Nielsen was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Mount Clemens.

She was an avid gardener and crafter, having special skills with crochet and knitting. Mrs. Nielsen worked for many years as a home demonstration hostess with shows for toys and household items. She will be fondly remembered as running the "Orange Dream Cycle" ice cream truck, which she and her late husband owned and operated in the Fraser area for many years. Family members said she was a loving grandmother and cherished times spent with family and friends.

She is survived by children, Linda Johnson of Luzerne, and Theda Lynn "Teddie" (Robert) Wolverton of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Crystal, Jamie, Tabitha, Shara, Frank, Rachell, Jimmy, Joey, Melissa and Robby; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother and a sister.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Joseph Greslik Nielsen, in 2001; daughter, Sandra, in 2006; and 13 brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Wm. R. Hamilton Co. Funeral Home, 226 Crocker Blvd., Mount Clemens. A funeral will be held Monday at the funeral home; please call for time. Burial willtake place in Clinton Grove Cemetery.
