Joseph Reynard was born in Hampsthwaite, Yorkshire, England.

Joseph was baptised on 28 September 1783 at St Thomas a Beckett Church in Hampsthwaite^[1], the son of Mary (Beecroft)^[1] and Jonathan Reynard^[1].

He married Ann Smith on 9 July 1807 at St Thomas a Beckett Church in Hampsthwaite^[2].

He died, aged 85^[3], in 1869^[3] and was buried at Hampsthwaite on 13 February.

Research Notes

• Some trees have Joseph marrying for a second time (to Anne Marshall on 9 February 1813). However, no death record has been found for Ann before this date and the marriage record in question records Joseph as being "of Kirkby Malzeard" parish, when this Joseph was of Hampsthwaite.
