Funeral services for Mayme Hubbard Rabel are 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond, with the Rev. David Luckert officiating. Burial follows at 2 p.m. at the Weimar Masonic Cemetery in Weimar, Texas.

Visitation is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Garmany and Carden Chapel in Rosenberg.

Mayme Hubbard Rabel passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009. She was born Sept. 2, 1911, to Tom and Elizabeth Roberts of Weimar.

In 1938, she moved to Richmond, as the wife of William Hubbard Jr. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond, and a member of the Richmond Garden Club. Mayme enjoyed working as a docent with the Richmond Museum for several years.

Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; husband of 17 years, Leslie Rabel of Weimar; three brothers; one sister; and one nephew.

She is survived by four nephews; two nieces; and numerous other family members and friends.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church in Richmond, or a charity of one's choice, in lieu of flowers.

Research Notes

Year of birth conflicts - her revised birth certificate signed by her mother in 1952, shows Mayme's year of birth as 1910; her headstone had no dates but her obituary states her year of birth as 1911.
