Thomas was born in 1882. ^[1] He was the son of Charles Rodwell and Phoebe Budd.

He married Ellen Kable in 1905. ^[2]

The death of Mr. Thomas Stead Rodwell, of Millthorpe, took place at his residence, at Barry, at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, after an illness extending over three years. The deceased was 37 years of age, and had spent most of his life at Blayney, having moved to Barry only about two years ago. There are left to mourn their loss a widow and five children (two boys and three girls), also four brothers (Messrs Edward, Charles, Gordon, and George), and six sisters (Mesdames P. Dunn, Bathurst, J. Dunn, Orange, W. Manning, Cumnock, Holling, Greghamstown, A. Bentley, Millthorpe, and C. Dean, Greghamstown. The burial took place on Tuesday, in the Methodist portion of the local cemetery. The Rev. P. O. Davis officiated at the grave. Mr. Dave Reed, of Blayney, had charge of the funeral arrangements.^[5]
