Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1840 in Bingley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England and was baptised on 14 June 1840 at St Helen's Church, Denton, Yorkshire, England.^[1] She was the daughter of Joseph and Martha Rodwell. Her father was an Innkeeper. Her mother's maiden name is Wharton which is recorded in the Birth Registration from General Register Office, England and Wales ^[2]

In the 1841 Census, when Eliz. Rodwell was a year old she lived in the township of Askwith in the parish of Weston in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England in the household of her grandmother Eliz. Wharton (around 70) with her aunt Sarah Wharton (around 25) and her brother William Rodwell (2) ^[3]

Elizabeth Roswell, daughter of Joseph Rodwell (deceased), married Francois Xavier Nicolas Meyer, son of Joseph Meyer (Gentleman), on 2 Oct 1866 in St Mary's Parish Church, Lambeth, Surrey, England.^[4][5]The marriage witnesses were Henry C. D. Bone and Marianne E. Bone. At the time of their marriage, they resided in Princes Place, London.

2. Xavier Rodwell Meyer, born 1872 ^[7]

She died in 1925 at the age of 85.^[8]
