George Thomas Rogerson was born on 16 July 1857 in Patricroft, Lancashire, England, the son of Amos Rogerson and Martha Shaw. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

He was baptised on 3 January 1858 at St Mary's church, Eccles, Lancashire.^[1]

In 1861, he was living at 190 George St, Barton Upon Irwell, Lancashire.^[2]

In 1871, he was living at 13 George St, Winton, Barton Upon Irwell. He was a mill hand. ^[4]

He married Betty Shaw on 20 October 1880 at St Mary's church, Eccles.^[5]

In the 1881 census George was living at 15 Pym St, Eccles. He was a plumber.^[6]

In 1891, he was living at 270 Liverpool Road, Barton Upon Irwell. ^[7][8]

In 1901, a plumber, he was living at 15 Worsley Road, Winton, Lancashire. ^[9]

In 1911 he was living in Eccles. ^[10]
