Biography

Margaret Ross-Lewin was born in 1785 at Cornfield, County Clare, Ireland. She was the daughter of Westropp Ross-Lewin[1] and Margaret Morony.[2][3]

On 14 November 1801, she eloped and married Edmond Greene at Port Patrick, Wigtownshire, Scotland.[1][2][3][4]

Edmond and Margaret had at least the following children:

  1. Edward Greene-Mahon m Sarah Henrietta Louisa Waiblinger
  2. William Greene
  3. Charles Greene m Charlotte_

Margaret Greene Mahon died on 9 January 1837 at Snugville, Kilmaley, County Clare, Ireland.[5]

Research Notes

Margaret's husband was born with the surname "Greene" but took on his mother's maiden name of "Mahon"- sometimes the surname is hyphenated in records and at other times written as Greene Mahon.
