Biography

Charles Allen Sanderson was born around 1825,^[1] the youngest son of Joseph Sanderson of London, England.^[2]

He joined the London police force in 1848, before migrating to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1855, where he joined the Sydney police force as a sergeant.^[1]

He married Amy Wright on 29 March 1880 in Narrabri, New South Wales.^[2] Their children were:

• Florence A. A. Sanderson (1882– )^[3]
• Amy Sanderson (1888– )^[4]
• Charles Frederick Sanderson (1889–1965)^[5]

Charles died in January 1919 at his home, 'Chelsea' in Ashfield, Sydney.^[1]
